Product Description

Before magnetic tape in computing became the norm in the mid-70s programs were coded on write-once punch cards stacked in an ordered deck. Programmers would write out code on a coding sheet and then hand it over to a keypunch operator where characters were encoded by punching out the character needed, to be read and executed by the card reader. Different card colors and different corners cut showed where different programs started when they were stacked in a card reader or stored in a box. Programs were stored with rubber bands around each deck and the program name written on the top. These blank greeting cards are handmade from real, vintage used punch cards and feature a brief description on the inside blank sheet, with acid-free inside paper and archival glue used. There are two sizes, Large and Small, both folded with a blank white sheet on the inside to write on. The Large is 7.5" x 3.25" and comes in a pack of 10 in assorted colors. The Small is 3.75 x 3.25 and comes in a pack of 12 in assorted colors. Both have matching white envelopes and come in a pink anti-static zippered poly bag.
